Unfortunately, not every kid has the opportunity to spend a week or so surrounded by new friends and good times. Special Love and the R&W Foundation recently held a barbeque to raise funds to send children with cancer to camp. After all, what goes better with food and fun than a good cause? The film festival shows a variety of different genre movies enjoyable for all ages. Presented by 97.1 WASH-FM, Long Fence and Home, along with other local companies (Mattress Warehouse, Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Regency Furniture, Harris Teeter, Montgomery College, Geico Direct, Suntrust Bank), help sponsor the week-long event located on the grounds of The Universities of Shady Grove at 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. Although all movies begin at 8:10 p.m., attendees are encouraged arrive when the gates open at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy food and snacks where proceeds benefit the NIH (National Institute of Health) Children’s Charities.
