Providing housing for those in need is as noble of a cause as any. However, Sandtown Habitat for Humanity have a different idea for their 300th project. Not only will the home at 1810 Laurens create a living space for a family in need, but it will also be the first home in Baltimore city to achieve LEED Platinum status. The energy fence absorbs solar power from the sun via solar panels placed on top of the fence. Then, the energy is transfered to a brine system located somewhere around the home. The energy gathered from the fence is used to save money on annual heating and energy costs. |
