Claude Hall: Attitude Makes A Difference

When I first met Claude Hall, I immediately took note of his genuine enthusiasm and upbeat attitude.  Of course I also noticed his physical disability, but that isn’t what stood out.  A positive attitude is too often forgotten in the modern workplace, where bad days are contagious.  Claude and I have worked together for nearly 3 months and I haven’t seen or heard anything negative from him during that time.  As Claude will gladly tell you, it takes a certain type of person to be a Call Center Representative.  Fortunately for our company, he is that type of person.

Little Boxes On The Hillside

Humans have a great ability to adapt to change.  If recent housing reports are any indication, we may be adapting faster than expected to the housing crisis and rising energy cost.  The American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently conducted a “Home Design Trend Survey” and the results left me surprised.  Respondents declared an increase in projects that promote property improvements, accessibility and flexible design.  What is surprising, is only 2% of respondents indicated they were planning on increasing their lot size.

Long Windows Video Trailer

So where exactly do Long Windows come from?  The video above is a preview of an upcoming series where we take a look at what makes our windows different and special.  Filming on location in Vandergrift, PA, we visit the people behind the windows, Serious Materials.  Along with Long Windows, Serious Materials is also providing the energy efficient windows for the greening of the Empire State Building.  The plant in Vandergrift was recently given new life via Obama’s Recovery Act.  We document what our partners are doing with this new opportunity and show the processes that make our replacement windows so unique.
